25 Days of Book Boyfriends Tour
When I heard about the 25 Days of Book Boyfriends Tour, hosted by Lovin’ los libros and Readers Live a 1000 Lives, I knew I had to participate…and I knew right away who my book boyfriend choice would be: Gabe Bowden from At Wolf Ranch by Jennifer Ryan. First, check out my review HERE to find out just why I love Gabe Bowden. Gabe is strong and loyal right from the beginning. He inherently wants to protect Ella and he is willing to walk into any dangerous situation if it meant he was keeping her safe. Their chemistry was off the charts and I just really enjoyed the story.
Gabe just got into my heart from the very first moment I met him, and he hasn’t left. 🙂 I’ve shared my love for this book many times. I’ve suggested it to several patrons at the library where I work. I’ve given copies of At Wolf Ranch away as gifts. Gabe is one of those characters that feels real to me – I feel as if I actually know him. He personifies what a strong, sexy, rancher is to me. He’s totally smitten with his lady and he lives an honest life that he is content with. Jennifer Ryan was kind enough to interview Gabe for Brooke Blogs today:
When did Gabe know Ella was the one?
The minute Gabe meets Ella he knows there’s something different and special about her. He just doesn’t know what that is because he thinks she’s her twin sister, who he met briefly, but didn’t get that sense of connection with her the way he does with Ella. When he realizes Ella isn’t the same girl he met before, he cautiously allows himself to give in to that inner need to be close to her until he can’t fight his attraction, or the way his heart reacts to her anymore.
It started the minute he found her near frozen to death on the side of the road and builds every minute he’s with her until he realizes he can’t live without her.
What is it about Ella that makes Gabe fall so hard for her?
Gabe loves Ella for her enduring strength and resilience. Even in her grief she finds a way to pull herself together to avenge her sister’s death and put the murderer behind bars where he belongs. He admires her dedication to her family and the business her father built and left to her. She cares about the people in her life and those who work for her. It’s her kind, generous heart that holds Gabe enthralled and makes it so easy for him to love her.
What is it about Ella that drives Gabe crazy?
Her single-minded determination to put her sister’s murderer behind bars even if it means putting her life on the line to make it happen. She’s smart as a whip, but sometimes too smart for her own good, exposing people who want to keep their secrets, making her a target for retribution.
The way she smiles at him and makes him want her so desperately that he’s got to carry her off to bed.
What’s a typical day in the life for Gabe and Ella?
They wake in each other’s arms and share coffee and breakfast as the sun comes up. Gabe heads out to feed the horses and cattle and work the ranch. Ella heads to her home office for conference calls, emails, and spreadsheets, running her New York company from the comfort of the ranch she loves. The share a quick lunch before it’s back to work for each of them. Dinner is a chance to share a beer or a glass of wine and each other’s company, talking about their day, what’s coming up for tomorrow and the weeks and months ahead, plan trips back to New York and around the world for Ella’s business, and then spend a cozy night snuggling on the couch watching a movie or favorite TV show. They end the day in bed in each other’s arms.
On the nights when Ella is in New York and Gabe is home on the ranch, they spend their evenings on the phone for hours, desperate to hear the other’s voice and to be with each other again.
*Swoon* I love this fictional man.

The closest that I would have in a book boyfriend would be Roarke from JD Robb’s In Dead series. The reason it would be him is because he loves unconditionally and will do what it takes to protect his wife and friends.
