Christina at My Life in Books is hosting a Bookish Battle Royal Challenge for #BoutOfBooks 10.0. I’ve been trying to think all afternoon of which characters I would pit together in the ultimate literary battle royal. For the Bookish Battle Royal Challenge, we’re to pick 3 or more fictional characters to do battle, list their strengths and weaknesses, and decide who would win. I’m going for a random trio of strong female characters I enjoy. Here goes…
First Contestant: Hermione Granger
Strengths
- She’s a witch – Magic
- Intelligent
- Loyal
Weaknesses
- Arrogance
- Emotional (A strength at times, but not always.)
- Doesn’t always trust her instincts
Second Contestant: Katniss Everdeen
Strengths
- Archery
- Survival Skills
- Logical
Weaknesses
- Emotional
- Protective – Cares more about her family’s safety than her own.
- Stubborn
Third Contestant: Bella Cullen
Strengths
- Mental Shield – She can protect herself & her loved ones.
- Vampire Strength
- Vampire Speed
Weaknesses
- Her family – she is willing to die if they are in danger.
- Emotional
- Impulsive
And the Winner is…
Bella Cullen
I think Bella’s strengths are too much for Hermione or Katniss to take on. Bella can protect herself from pain with her mental shield, and I think she would be able to block any magic from Hermione or arrows from Katniss. She’s got super strength and speed. Out of these three kick-ass ladies, Bella takes it for me. Her main weaknesses are her family…if Hermione or Katniss could get to Edward or anyone else Bella cares about, she may be distracted enough to let her shield down, making her vulnerable for attack.
