Murderous Mondays – Week 1

Murderous Mondays – Week 1

Welcome to my first Murderous Mondays post! I’m joining some cozy mystery blogger buddies for this fun weekly link-up. We’ll be sharing our recent and/or favorite murderous reads. Bree at Bibliophile Reviews and Marie at A Cozy Experience are also posting for Murderous Monday. Be sure to stop over and check out their posts! Hopefully, you’ll find some great suggestions to add to your TBR pile and wish lists. Also, be sure to comment below and let me know what murderous mystery books you are reading!

I recently read Murder, She Barked by Krista Davis. This is the first book in the Paws and Claws Mystery series. I really loved it and am excited to read more in this series. And, …

Friendly Fill-Ins for 4/7/17

This is week 48 for Friendly Fill-Ins, but I’m just now joining in. The fill-ins are posted at McGuffy’s Reader and 15 and Meowing, along with a link-up. I’m going to put this on my calendar so I remember to do it each week. Let me know if you are participating also, I’d love to check out your responses. 🙂

1. I don’t understand why avocado is so popular. I’ve tried it once, in a homemade salad dressing, and I just couldn’t get past the texture. Not a fan of it at all. I’ve never tried guacamole.

2. My in-case-of-emergency person is my boyfriend, Donny.

3. There is so much crazy weather lately! It was in the 60s …

All For You #BehindTheBlogger Hop

All For You #BehindTheBlogger Hop

All For You

It is funny how reading the words for a writing prompt instantly creates a connection to what you want to write about. When I first saw the prompt for this week’s Behind the Blogger hop, I immediately thought of my children. What do you think of when you hear the words “All For You”?

My daughters are my reason for every little thing I do. I get up each day and go to work because I want to provide for them. Maintaining my blog is a creative outlet, but it is also another way for me to make money or receive products or services that benefit them. I started my virtual assistant business because I want to …

Fight for Your Right #BehindTheBlogger

Fight for Your Right #BehindTheBlogger

Fight for Your Right

Sorry for the glitch with my post earlier; somehow WordPress published my first draft and not my updated one. Oops! Anyhow, on to this week’s prompt: Fight for Your Right. In today’s world, it would seem like we shouldn’t have to fight much for our right to do anything, but that isn’t the case.

I found out I was pregnant for my first daughter when I was 18 and in my first quarter of college. Not long after that, I realized I would be doing it all on my own. I fought for my right take care of my daughter on my own. I fought against family and friends who felt I could not do it. Even …

'Round Here #BehindTheBlogger

'Round Here #BehindTheBlogger

‘Round Here reminds me of the Florida Georgia Line song “Round Here”.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand…

‘Round Here

‘Round Here makes me think of where I live: small town USA for sure. I live in the same little town I grew up in. There are no stoplights. We are just a blip on a map. Sometimes, my town isn’t even listed on maps or on a GPS. We can’t order take-out for delivery, since no one delivers out here. Our town consists of a carryout store, a post office, a volunteer fire department, a legion, a bar, and a rod and gun club. They’re also building a dollar store, which is the first thing being built in our town …

When You Love Someone #BehindTheBlogger

When You Love Someone #BehindTheBlogger

Love.

Who do you think of when you see this image? When you hear the word love? I immediately think of my boyfriend, Donny. We have been together for 7+ years. Most days, it doesn’t seem that long at all. I believe that sometimes, when you see a person, you just know. You can just tell that they are going to be more for you than other people. You know they are going to have an incredible impact on your life story. I felt that way with Donny right from the beginning.

The world seems like a better place when you love someone. Colors are brighter. You see beauty where you didn’t see it before. You have a feeling of hope. As …

Friday's Bookish Memes – 5/22/15 #Friday56 #LifeAfterPerfect

Friday's Bookish Memes – 5/22/15 #Friday56 #LifeAfterPerfect

This week’s Book Blogger Hop question was submitted by Elizabeth:

Why would you stop reading a book? Too long, wrong genre, bad language, not what you expected, or something totally different?

I stop reading a book for a lot of reasons. One of the main reasons is if I don’t connect with the characters or the plot right away. I want to feel invested in a story early on, or I usually don’t have the motivation to continue. I will also stop reading a book if it doesn’t have good pacing – I don’t like when a story starts to feel like it is dragging on, or there is unnecessary information. I typically give a book about 40-50 …

Book Blogger Hop 2/6/15

Book Blogger Hop 2/6/15

The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Billy at Coffee Addicted Writer. It’s a chance for book bloggers to answer a book blogger question, link up and check out everyone’s answers. My answer is below. Be sure to check out the main post by clicking the banner at the top for everyone else’s answers. I’d love to hear your answers in the comments!

This Week’s Question:
Is there anything that turns you off when you are reading a blog post? For example: two posts in one post such as answers to two memes.

My Answer:
Two memes is my limit – any more than that and the post starts to feel disconnected. I also don’t want to have to read through several sets …
