7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge – Day 2

7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge – Day 2

It’s Day 2 of the 7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge hosted by Parajunkee. Yes, I just posted Day 1. But, I didn’t realize the challenge was going on until just now. O:) So, from here on out, one post a day about the 7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge. Today’s post is sharing your favorite holiday scene from a book.

I adore classic moments, like in A Christmas Carol when Ebenezer Scrooge has his epiphany. But I wanted to share one of my more recent favorite holiday scenes. I recently read Do You Believe In Santa? by Sierra Donovan. I absolutely adored this Christmas contemporary romance. I reviewed it HERE and shared an excerpt, which …

7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge – Day 1

7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge – Day 1

Parajunkee is hosting an awesome 7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge. 🙂 I’m excited to participate! On the first day of the 7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge we are discussing gifts that we are giving this year.

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is seeing the joy on a loved one’s face when they receive a gift. One fun gift we are giving away this year is solid lotion bars. My awesome boyfriend made a big batch of these over the weekend, and we will be giving these to our family members. We have cute little snowmen, Santa and trees. I love that we have a unique gift to give out.

What fun …

CoSchedule is a Blogging Life Saver

CoSchedule is a Blogging Life Saver

CoSchedule is a Blogging Life Saver! I first heard about CoSchedule from the amazing Felicia at Geeky Bloggers Book Blog. I’ve been blogging for a little over three years. In that time, I’ve struggled with social media promotion and getting my blog posts out there on a consistent basis. I have been looking for a comprehensive editorial calendar to streamline my blog posts and social media sharing. CoSchedule seamlessly integrates right into your WordPress Dashboard. You can see your CoSchedule calendar right from the CoSchedule webiste or directly in WordPress:

My CoSchedule calendar right in WordPress.

As I am writing a blog post, I can easily choose when I want it promoted and …

It's Never Too Late

It's Never Too Late

Life takes some crazy, unexpected turns. I am not sure I know anyone who, at this point in their life, is doing what they thought they would be doing. I had my entire life mapped out. Life seldom pays attention to our plans.

When I was growing up, I was convinced I was going to be a teacher. At the end of each school year, I was the kid dragging home all the leftover dittos and any outdated text books so that I could spend my entire summer playing school. By high school, I thought I would like to be a social studies/history teacher. Toward the end of my senior year of high school, I met a guy. You can …

PediaSwim #MomBuzz #PoolTime #Baby @pedia_swim

I recently heard about a program called PediaSwim. PediaSwim is a program that teaches individuals to be infant and toddler swimming instructors. I had no idea there was a program like this! PediaSwim instructors are able to teach children a swim – float- swim technique for fun and safety. PediaSwim Instructors are trained and certified by Joy McGinty at SouthWest Aquatics in Florida.

Infant Swimming Instructor Certification takes place over the course of four weeks/five days per week. The Infant, Baby and Toddler Swimming Instructor Training Course is a comprehensive course, that trains you to work with children from ages six months to three years. I love that PediaSwim trains you one on one. …

G is for Grandmas – Blogging from A to Z

G is for Grandmas – Blogging from A to Z

G is for Grandmas! My Grandma Ginny has always been there for me. Ever since I was little, I would spend all the time I could with her and my Pappy Art. I moved in with her when I was 14 to help her take care of my grandfather, and so I could be close enough to walk to school activities. My grandfather passed away when I was 15, and I still miss him every day. I wish he could have met my children! He would have loved them.

Grandma Ginny may be a little thing (she comes in at under 5′ tall :)) but what she lacks in height, she makes up for in spunk. She is always …

F is for Failure – Blogging from A to Z

F is for Failure – Blogging from A to Z

F is for Failure

We have all had things we have failed at. Maybe we didn’t succeed at something new we tried to do, maybe we weren’t chosen as the ‘winner’ at something, maybe we didn’t get the promotion we wanted. Every failure is a lesson. I think it’s important to learn from the things we don’t succeed at – sometimes, those are the strongest lessons.

I also think it’s important to teach our kids about failure. It seems like a lot of things are in place to shield our kids from being singled out, to learn how to lose at something – which ultimately makes them better at winning. Everyone on the team gets a trophy now for participation. I …

E is for Exercise – Blogging from A to Z

E is for Exercise – Blogging from A to Z

E is for Exercise! There are many times I just don’t feel like going to the gym or working out. Even though I know I always feel better after I do. The hardest part is putting on your shoes and getting there. I am not a fitness buff or a thin person. I want to be healthier and exercise is an essential part of that. I feel so accomplished after I’ve worked out! I joined the new Planet Fitness gym that opened up locally and I am so glad that I did. You can’t beat the prices for membership and the atmosphere is great. I have never felt out of place or like I don’t belong there.

Do you …

D is for Decorating Eggs – Blogging from A to Z

D is for Decorating Eggs – Blogging from A to Z

D is for Decorating Eggs in today’s Blogging from A to Z challenge post. I readily admit that, for some reason, I simply cannot hard-boil eggs. Every year I try, and every year in the past it has not worked out. A couple of years ago, I started baking my eggs to hard-boil them. Oh, this has been a life saver. We finally can have hard “boiled” eggs for dying Easter eggs, and for eating afterward. Do you bake your eggs to hard boil them? I definitely recommend it. Super easy and just about fool-proof. 🙂

I’m not usually a fan of dying eggs. Normally, at least one color of dye gets spilled all over the kitchen and someone ends …
