For the Love of Ebooks Readathon #ebooksreadathon

For the Love of Ebooks Readathon #ebooksreadathon

You guys!! I am SUPER excited to be co-hosting my first readathon! I’m hosting For the Love of Ebooks Readathon with Tina from As Told By Tina. Over the years, I’ve come to love reading on my Kindle. While I still love physical books – being surrounded by them on my bookshelves – visiting the library and finding the perfect story to check out – just the feel and smell of books – I absolutely love the convenience of eBooks. I can instantly download a book any time of the day or night. I can check ebooks out of the library. I can carry literally thousands of books with me wherever I …

High Summer Readathon + Christmas in July Readathon #HSReadathon

High Summer Readathon + Christmas in July Readathon #HSReadathon

I’m looking forward to participating in the High Summer Readathon! This fun readathon will take place from July 17th-July 30th. This is a relaxed readathon. Join in when you can and read what you like. 🙂 There’s also something extra special this time: for the final two days, there will be a Christmas in July Readathon. It is optional to participate in the Christmas portion of the Readathon, but I love reading Christmas stories. I can’t wait for this readathon. Click the images at the top of this post to get all the information and to sign up.

Though my list will likely change, I am planning on reading:

Gold Rush by Jennifer Comeaux (audiobook)

Christmas Spirit Readathon

Seasons of Reading is hosting their Christmas Spirit Readathon this week. Yay! The readathon runs from November 21st-November 28th. They suggest reading at least one Christmas book (since it’s a Christmas Spirit readathon), but really, you can read whatever you like. The radio started playing Christmas music today, I’m making room for the Christmas tree, and we had our first snowfall of the year this weekend. So, ready or not, Christmas is coming. And, like anything, I like to get in the spirit by reading.

Christmas Spirit Readathon Plans:

A Fatal Feast by Jessica Fletcher & Donald Bain
Rest Ye Murdered Gentlemen by Vicki Delany
We Wish You …

#FrightFall Read-a-thon Sign-up Post

#FrightFall Read-a-thon Sign-up Post

I’m signing up for the #FrightFall Read-a-thon! This year’s event is taking place from October 3rd to October 9th. There are some general read-a-thon guidelines that you can access by visiting Seasons of Reading. Beyond that, you just have to follow the one “rule” of #FrightFall: you must read at least ONE scary book (which can be a thriller, mystery, Gothic novel, or similar for those who are faint of heart). I already have my one scary book picked out. Since I normally read mysteries anyway, and I’ve been on a bit of a psychological thriller kick lately, I’ll have no trouble following the rule. 🙂

There is an awesome Seasons of Reading Facebook group as …

My Results – Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon #readathon

My Results – Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon #readathon

The Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon for April 2016 is officially in the books. I have discovered that it is very difficult to do a readathon when you have to work; when you have children; and when you get sucked into watching YouTube prank videos with your boyfriend. For the next readathon, I’m planning on requesting the time off from work and hopefully camping out in a hotel with nothing but peace, quiet, and some amazing books. 🙂 I would estimate I spent 4 total hours reading. I read:

Death of a Dishonorable Gentleman by Tessa Arlen (310 pages, I was on page 120 when the readathon started).
Silly Wonderful You by Sherri Duskey Rinker (picture book, read …

Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon – April 23, 2016 #readathon @readathon

I’m so excited that it’s almost time for the Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon! What is it? Just what it sounds like: reading as much as you can for 24 hours. There are fun mini challenges, a Facebook group, a Goodreads group, Twitter cheerleaders, and so much more. I work tomorrow from 8:30-2:00, but I will be reading as much as possible after stopping at the store for snacks and getting home. I’ll try to update this blog post with progress, but I’ll mostly be posting on Instagram and Twitter. Click and follow me to check out my #readathon progress! Let me know in the comments if you’re participating in Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon tomorrow. Be …

Bout of Books 13 #BoutOfBooks

Bout of Books 13 #BoutOfBooks

It’s time for Bout of Books 13! I’m a bit late with my sign up post. I was on the fence about whether I would do the read-a-thon, but I always end up signing up, so here goes. I’m hoping to read:

The Final Reveille by Amanda Flower
Southern Heat by David Burnsworth
The Corpse with the Sapphire Eyes by Cathy Ace
before i go by Colleen Oakley
Mean Streak by Sandra Brown

This may switch up since I’m terrible at being organized. I’ll likely throw in some books not on the list and include some audiobooks to break things up. I won’t get too much reading done until Wednesday when I’m off – Tuesday is a little too busy with work all day followed …
