Purchasing a Crib

As parents expect a new child, whether their own or adopted, they usually begin to prepare a nursery for the anticipated child. Probably the first item on your list is a new crib because the crib sets the basis for décor in the nursery. For safety’s sake, avoid bassinets, cradles, co-sleepers, and Moses baskets for your child. A crib is the best option.

What About the Crib that Mom Kept for Me?

If you can, don’t buy a used crib or accept a used crib for your child. That way you can rely upon the crib’s compliance with the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) standards. Are you aware that the recommended spacing of crib slats has been amended? Don’t put your child …

Celebrating the Season with #FebrezeHoliday @SheSpeaksUp @Febreze_Fresh

One of my favorite parts of changing seasons is all the new scents that come with the new season. I just love going into the winter holidays with warm, wonderful scents that really invoke the feelings of the season. Scents and memories are intertwined, and I like that a certain holiday scent brings up memories of holidays past. I was super excited to start Celebrating the Season with #FebrezeHoliday! I received the awesome kit pictured above in exchange for sharing the great scents of the season with you.

I received these items in the lovely Cranberry Cider scent. Oh. My. Goodness. I am in love! The scent is perfect for the winter season, …

A Love of Sports Starts Early

A love of sports starts at a young age. Although small children don’t necessarily understand why they love wearing a Patriots jersey or playing with that oversized baseball in their crib, they do understand that these are among a few of their favorite things. As a parent, you can instill a lifelong passion for a particular sport or sports team by buying them baby clothes or other accessories with sport or team logos on them.

Like Father Like Son

A little boy wants to be just like his dad as he grows up. Therefore, he will want to wear a Buffalo Bills jersey or something with a Boston Red Sox logo on it because his dad is wearing the same thing. By …

This is a debit card, like the one from your bank, and you can use it EVERYWHERE Visa is accepted — except it’s way cooler and cuter than your crumby old bank card.

Handcrafted leather journals from

Thank you for this guest post.

Recent research suggests that journaling, or writing down one’s feelings or experiences down on paper, may have some deep healing effects on the psyche. In fact, many psychologists believe that journaling is an effective way to deal with harbored emotions and stifled memories, and may help relieve negative emotions, if only temporarily. Many individuals keep a journal, or what is commonly referred to as a diary, to recount their journey through life. Some people even keep gratitude journals which they believe helps to keep them staying grounded and happy throughout the day.

Ad: Find&Save Helps Me Find and Save! @FindnSave

This is a sponsored post, written on behalf of me for Find&Save. Consideration was received for my fair and honest review of Find&Save, however, all opinions are my own.

Find&Save is an awesome site that allows you to find sales and circulars in the area you choose. To begin, you can choose your state from the drop-down box and then choose one of several locations. Since I live in a rural area, I had to choose a bigger city in the surrounding area. What I noticed right away was that the page was then packed full of ads and sales. I was able to look at local circulars for all the stores I like …

Halloween Invitations

Are you having a spooky Halloween get-together this year? Do you want to invite all the little goblins in the neighborhood over to bob for apples? Would you like to have a costume party with your best friends? All of these sound like a ton of fun. Halloween parties, like any holiday party, take a lot of thought and preparation beforehand. First, you have to decide on the basics, like when and where. Next, a theme. Once you’ve decided on an overall theme, you should choose your general color scheme. This will help you in the long run, as you’ll be able to color-coordinate all of your party decor and even your …

Diabetic Pet Food

Discovering that your pet has diabetes is painful at best, but it is something that can be coped with. Unlike some injuries and afflictions, a dog can go on to be perfectly happy and even healthy in their life so long as their diabetes is managed appropriately, just as with a person. However, as with a person, this takes managing the dog’s diabetes, which can be a more difficult task. Unlike a human, a dog can’t understand that they have diabetes and take care of themselves, putting the responsibility off on the owner. However, managing a dog’s diabetes is entirely possible.

The first thing that’s easiest to overlook is exercise. Dogs can use exercise just like people can. While it might …

0 Dresses

Pageants have become a billion-dollar industry. Little girls, teens and young women are dressed to the “nines” in long and short formal and semi-formal dresses. Most dresses are beaded with Aurora-Borealis (AB), diamond-like jewels that are similar to those used in competitive figure skating.

Little girls are the largest competitive group in the many pageants around the U.S. year round. Most of them wear “cupcake” dresses. A cupcake dress has a skirt constructed from layer upon layer of organza that has been tightly surge-hemmed at one end to give it a “ruffled” look. Stiff tooling is also used. Cupcake dresses usually have puffed sleeves or are sleeveless. An emerging cupcake-dress trend in sleeves is the off-the-shoulder look with small capped sleeves.
