BB: Thank you so much for stopping by Brooke Blogs, Jennifer! I’m excited to share a bit more about you with my readers.

JB: Hi Brooke, I’m so thrilled to be here!

BB: What does your writing space look like? Feel free to include photos!

JB: OMG, if you saw my writing space you’d either run screaming or book a flight to Alaska to put some order in my world! I’m not even kidding (well, maybe a little.) I live in a cabin in Alaska and we don’t have much extra space. However, the scenery is amazing, so I will show you the view from my computer.

BB: Wow! It’s breathtaking. Next question. What is your favorite part of being an author?

JB: My favorite part is the pure joy of those moments when an idea comes to me and gets me all jazzed up. When I can completely picture how the scene is going to play out, and it’s just a matter of coming up with the words to attach to it. Also, I love it when I read something over and it just really works and I imagine someone else reading it and being moved, or laughing, or tearing up. My goal as a writer is bring an ultimately happy experience to a reader, so imagining that result makes me smile.

BB: What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

JB: I like to read things other people wrote – enjoying the hard work of others. 😉 Where we live in Alaska, there’s always something to do, such as smoking salmon or falling trees or canning sauerkraut. That sort of thing takes up a lot of time, but I also try to find time for my yoga obsession. Yoga is my cure for hunched-shoulder laptop syndrome. I’m not sure I could be a healthy writer without it.

BB: If you could write from anywhere in the world, where would you write and why?

JB: Oddly enough, I get some of my best writing done while on airplanes or waiting in airports. I’m weirdly productive during long plane journeys, which is a good thing since I live in Alaska and everything is a long trip. But I hate being uncomfortable, so if I could have a private plane with luxury accommodations that would fly around the world while I write, then touch down when I feel like a break, that might work really well for me. Do you think something like that exists?

BB: Do you have any interesting writing quirks? Any snacks/drinks you have to have or music that you listen to?

JB: Tea. And more tea. With just a little more sugar in it. Then another refill. I have to have my tea when I write! I prefer silence while I work, or at least nothing more than ambient noise. I’ve become expert at blocking out external sounds, which might actually become a safety issue at some point.

BB: Have you read any great books/authors lately? We’d love a recommendation!

JB: I’ve been on a YA, romantic suspense and thriller kick lately. The Short Drop by Matthew Fitzsimmons, Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johansen, These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner, the Cold Justice series by Toni Anderson, the Gentry Boys by Cora Brent … that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I read a lot.

JB: Catcher Mike Solo and Donna MacIntyre have been flirting all season. Now that they’ve shared the hottest kiss of their lives, Donna’s in major league trouble with her powerful ex. BB: What are you working on right now?

JB: I have two projects in the works. The first is a crossover collaboration with Erin Nicholas, called GETTING WOUND UP. It will be coming out in March 2016. Co-writing is so much fun! The other project is DRIVE YOU WILD, the 3rd book in the Love Between the Bases series. This one is about bad boy slugger Trevor Stark, who falls for the daughter of the team owner.
