Hi Krysten! Thank you so much for visiting Brooke Blogs today and agreeing to answer a few interview questions for Fast Five at Brooke Blogs!

1) What does your writing space look like?

I just moved this summer so I have a new office with lots of windows! My first time having natural light in my writing space in a long time. I keep a lot of things I’ve been given as gifts on my desk like Pop Funkos, Hello Kitty plushes, and other things I’ve been sent. They make me smile when I look at them. Here’s a pic of my new desk setup.

Brooke’s Side Note: I’m so excited to see you have a Himalayan Salt Lamp. I have two in my living room. Love them!

2) If you could write from anywhere in the world, where would you like to write from and why?

Picking just one would be hard, but I wouldn’t mind writing on a balcony in Paris, or in a cabin in the mountains for a weekend. I love the movie “The Secret Window” because Johnny Depp is away at a cabin by a lake trying to write. I’d need a TV though. I mean, it’s no wonder he lost it out there with no TV.

3) What is your favorite part of being an author?

Making up stories and creating new worlds and characters, but I have to admit it’s hard to say goodbye when you’re done with the book. Probably why I have a series and wrote a sequel to a book that was supposed to be a standalone!

4) What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

I like to explore new areas. I can make a “road trip” out of a twenty minute drive. I’m always taking in new scenery as ideas for settings. I also am a TV addict (American Dad, Girl Meets World, New Girl are some of my favorites, but honestly so many of my shows get canceled). I also love watching Detroit Lions football. Because I’ve moved a lot, I love keeping up with my friends, so I go on social media a lot to see what they’re up to. I read a lot and I can’t deny shopping is a favorite, too.

5) What are you currently working on?

I’m working on two YA novels now as well as an adult novel. One of the YA novels involves a girl who has her self-esteem tested when she begins dating the “it guy” at her high school.
