The only thing hotter than a cowboy…
Math teacher Lyndsay De Luca never surprised anyone-least of all herself-until this summer. First, she secretly published her debut romance novel. Then she started dating Will Sweet, the cowboy of her dreams. And now Lyndsay’s scrambling to hide the juiciest tidbit of all: that the hazel-eyed hero of her steamy fiction is the same guy whose kisses have become her mind-blowing reality.
Is a cowboy in love.
Ever since Will’s high school sweetheart died in a tragic accident, he hasn’t been able to commit to a long-term relationship. Lyndsay is the first woman in years who’s been able to catch-and keep-his attention. She’s fascinated by his work at Sweetheart Ranch, and a glance from her gorgeous brown eyes sends Will’s thoughts wandering. Will she be the one to finally break down the walls around his guarded heart?

You’re nodding your head at my blog title: Cowboys Make Sexy Heroes. Maybe you’re rolling your eyes that I even felt I had to say it. We all know it’s true! My newest Valentine Valley book, EVER AFTER AT SWEETHEART RANCH, has a cowboy hero, and when you’re as gorgeous and devil-may-care as Will Sweet, math teacher Lyndsay De Luca doesn’t stand a chance. You see, Lyndsay has a secret: she’s written a romance novel and accidentally based the hero on Will, a cowboy with a tragedy in his past. She thinks she knows everything about Will, since he’s her brother’s best friend, but we all know she’s got a lot to learn.
Here are my reasons why we’re fascinated with cowboys:
Sometimes a cowboy’s work keeps him alone with his horse a good part of the day. We imagine that cowboys are loners, a little sad at heart, who just need a good woman to make their lives complete. And we all want to be that woman.
Cowboys are honorable guys who’d do anything for their parents and their girlfriends, who’d never knowingly hurt anyone, who believe in honesty. And if a cowboy goes against any of that, he probably has a darn good reason and will make it right by the end of the book.
Cowboys work with their hands, and they use their bodies to control their horses. (fanning myself now) Their work is very physical and sometimes dangerous, and that sculpts an incredible body. But strength also makes a man confident, and that’s pretty sexy, too. Working on a ranch, a cowboy has to pick up a lot of skills, from dealing with animals to fixing engines. There’s just something about a man who’s competent in a lot of different ways. If you need something done, a cowboy can probably do it.
And last but not least: a man just looks good in jeans and cowboy hat and boots. Enough said.
So tell me your favorite cowboy qualities!
