First Book of the Year 2015

Sheila at Book Journey is once again sharing a fun photo collage featuring readers with their First Book of the Year 2015. Yay! I’m so excited. I was a part of this last year and spent a lot of time this year trying to decide just what book I would choose for my First Book of the Year 2015. I decided I wanted to read a historical romance but still didn’t know which one. Two days before Christmas, I received my holiday box from Avon Romance – and it contained four books in Sarah MacLean’s Rule of Scoundrels series. Squee! So for my First Book of the Year 2015, I will be reading A Rogue by Any Other Name by Sarah MacLean. 😀 What is your first book of the year?

The First Rule of Scoundrels
What a scoundrel wants, a scoundrel gets…

A decade ago, the Marquess of Bourne was cast from society with nothing but his title. Now a partner in London’s most exclusive gaming hell, the cold, ruthless Bourne will do whatever it takes to regain his inheritance—including marrying perfect, proper Lady Penelope Marbury.

A broken engagement and years of disappointing courtships have left Penelope with little interest in a quiet, comfortable marriage, and a longing for something more. How lucky that her new husband has access to such unexplored pleasures.

Bourne may be a prince of London’s underworld, but he vows to keep Penelope untouched by its wickedness—a challenge indeed as the lady discovers her own desires, and her willingness to wager anything for them… even her heart.

    1. Thank you, Freda! I *love* the cover too – it’s got a pearl essence sheen to it almost in person, it is gorgeous! And inside the front cover flap is a sexier picture of our hero & heroine. Love it! What are you reading for your first book of the year?

    1. I am definitely challenging myself a lot this year! But I have some awesome blog plug-ins to help me follow along – and, I work at a library, so lots of chances to pick up books I need without breaking the bank. 😉 Thank you for your support!

    1. It is such a fun read so far. I’m so glad it’s the first book in the series, I’m looking forward to the rest as well! Thanks for coming by, Kathryn!

Your photo together with the book cover looks lovely.I haven’t read this one but I have read the second and the third in the series.I loved the second book very much but unfortunately,I equally hated the third. So,I didn’t pick up the other two in the series.Hope you have a better time reading the whole series.I loved MacLean’s ‘Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake’ from her Love by Numbers series.
Have a great year ahead. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Geetanjali! I’m really loving this first book, so I’ve got my fingers crossed for the rest in the series. I haven’t read any of the author’s other books, so it was a real treat for me to discover her! Have a wonderful new year!

    1. Thank you, Paige! I’ve started really reading romance in the last couple of years, and historical romance within the last year and a half or so. I’ve discovered I enjoy the genre when I wasn’t sure I would! Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a great new year. 🙂

  2. Great photo and sounds like an interesting read to bring in the New Year! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my blog!
