Can she gather enough suspects and motives to convince the police to widen their investigation? Can she do it before the killer sets his murderous sights on her? Will her personal life ever be as simple as unveiling a murderer?
Hello, I’m Julienne. First I want to thank you for having me here today. You have a great blog.
I am the lead character in the new cozy book series, Resort to Murder, with the first novel – ICED. I am under suspicion of murdering the local celebrity Pastor. But, I swear I didn’t kill him. Sure, I kneed him in his privates when he got a bit grabby and aggressive with me….and he threatened to have me fired – but I didn’t push him onto the pointy end of the ice sculpture. Nope, not me.
I’m a quiet young professional trying to get my career moving. I’m in the on-the-job management training position for a luxury resort in Colorado Springs. I have always wanted to travel the globe and I plan on managing resorts around the world – if everything goes to plan. When I’m not working I practice my clarinet and play Pinochle with my neighbors in the Mountain Shadows Townhome community where I live.
If you read ICED, you will meet several of my quirky neighbors like Nathan who was a MASH doctor in his day, or Beverly a senior citizen with tattoos and an eye for men. You will also meet my family, especially Felicia my cousin, Aunt Regina and Uncle Lars, and my father. (Heavy sigh) My dad wants me married to money and be a country club wife providing him grandchildren, which isn’t part of my life plan. Plus, you’ll meet my boyfriend Brandon, who I have known most of my life since he is the best friend of my cousin Loring. (Cough) Okay, so Brandon and my dad are both pressuring me, but I don’t want to go into all that here.
Of course, the same day that Pastor Tom Drake was…you know…speared, Mason Sheridan moved in next door. My best friend refers to him as tall, dark, and yummy. It seems he is interested in me. I have nick named him Bond Jr. because I am definitely a Bourne-girl. Not interested in him, nope, not at all. Okay…I’ll admit he has a certain “je ne sais quoi.” (squirming in my chair.) You’ll have to read about him and decide for yourself.

Avery Daniels was born and raised in Colorado, graduated from college with a degree in business administration and has worked in fortune 500 companies and Department of Defense her entire life. Her most eventful job was apartment management for 352 units (plenty of fodder for stories there!). She still resides in Colorado with two brother black cats as her loving companions. She volunteers for a cat shelter, enjoys scrapbooking and card making, photography, and painting in watercolor and acrylic. She inherited a love for reading from her mother and grandmother and grew up talking about books and history at the dinner table. Her first try at writing a fully developed story was as a teen was a tale of a girl trying to nurse a fawn back to health and then release it into the wild again. She is plotting her next Resort to Murder novel and struggling over which Colorado resort should be her setting.
