Love & Deception by Chantel Rhondeau is the first book in her Agents in Love series. This is a wonderful piece of romantic suspense and the great beginning to a series. The story is about Carlie Hollis, who is living in hiding, under an assumed name, following her husband’s murder 6 years prior. She has had different aliases and moved all around the country, fleeing the people who killed her husband. She is taking karate, trying to improve her self-defense skills, when she meets Nick Kendall. He’s handsome and intriguing, and she finds herself drawn to him. Little does she know, there is more to him than meets the eye.
This story is full of action and suspense. The plot twists and turns as Chantel weaves a fantastic story. I found myself stopping and thinking so many times while I was reading this book. I loved it! There were many moments when I was on the edge of my seat. The story is definitely not lacking in the romance department, either. 😉 Really well written and I enjoyed it. I’ll be looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
