Donna’s dream of running a Victorian Bed and Breakfast is almost a reality. Her lack of inn keeping expertise, a shabby house in need of dire renovation and lack of money has slowed her down a bit. The murdered man in the upstairs parlor is her biggest obstacle. Less determined people might give it up, but not Donna. No killer is going to stop her from serving apple crumb cake to high paying guests.
Her natural skill at the Clue board game, along with the grudging assistance of veteran detective, Mark Taber, an overweight Puggle, and a chatty octogenarian neighbor should help her sniff out the killer unless she’s snuffed out first.
1) Do you have any interesting writing quirks?
It all depends on what you call a quirk. I think about a book a great deal even to the point of dreaming about characters. Unlike other people who write in absolute silence, I need noise because I came from a loud family. I turn on Netflix as a background noise. If I didn’t, I’d focus on every strange noise in the house.
2) What does your writing area look like?
It depends on the season. In the summer, I have a large umbrella that shades me as I type in my backyard. I have several bird feeders in my backyard and the birds provide plenty of background noise. As it gets cooler, I move inside to the couch. In the dead of winter, I stay in bed as long as possible and type. I have a radio in my room for background noise.
3) What is your favorite part of being an author? What about your least favorite part?
There are several favorites such as meeting authors and readers. I enjoy the creation process and getting cover drafts too.
What upsets me is when people judge my books without reading them.
4) What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I love to garden, which makes spring and summer my favorite time. My husband’s job takes him to various places and I travel with him, which means I’m typing in different locales. I recently started making jewelry.
5) What are you working on right now?
Under the Morgan K Wyatt name. I’m finishing Suspicious Circumstance: He Loves Me Not, which is a romantic suspense due out in late January. I’m in edits with The Love Talisman, which is a sweet romance. I’m also working on the second book in The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries, Class Reunions Can be Murder.
