What Freddie Steinmark wants most in the world is to play football. Deemed too small by the usual athletic standards, his father trains him hard, and Freddie brings a fight to the game that ultimately gets him noticed – by none other than legendary University of Texas coach Darrell Royal. Awarded a scholarship and a chance to play for the Longhorns, Freddie sets off to Austin determined to make the team. Alongside his old teammate Bobby Mitchell and new pal James Street they rise to the occassion, giving the Longhorns a real chance to turn the team around. But just when they’re reveling in the success of the season, Freddie suffers an injury that leads him to a shocking diagnosis and the biggest challenge he will ever face.

Okay…I am a football fanatic. I still love my high school team. I’m a big fan of the Buckeyes from THE Ohio State University. And I’ll be a Dallas Cowboys fan until the day I die. There’s something magical about the game of football. When you love it…you love it. There are so many facets to the game. I really enjoy watching sports movies because you get a glimpse into the lives of the people and players behind the game.
One of my favorite football movies is the 1980s film Lucas. I remember watching that anytime it was on when I was younger. Football is a game with so much heart and passion, strength and determination, that you become enthralled with every aspect of the game. My daughter runs cross country and track, and we enjoy watching sports related movies together. There’s a wonderful message within most of those films about overcoming challenges and being a stronger person than you thought you could be. We are really looking forward to watching My All*American. Check out the trailer below:
