I’m so excited to be on Brooke Blogs! Thanks for having me on, Brooke, and hello to all you readers of Brooke Blogs!
Today, I get to share with you my playlist for 122 Rules. I used to be a music major in college and had a rock band with all the usual dreams that go along with that. Well, the reality of the life did not live up to the dream so I switched majors to something that, ya know, would feed me on a regular basis. But music is still a huge part of my life, the beat goes on!
Sam – Sam is a complicated character. He used to be a happy-go-lucky guy in college, star athlete on his way to fame. But a few seconds and a couple of bad decisions changed all of that. His downward spiral began when his brother, Jake, was seriously injured. It wasn’t just getting hurt, but that Jake got addicted to drugs. The habit eventually overtook him, and while doing so also ate Sam’s life and his essence. Sam’s song is Nickelback’s Just to Get High.
Chet – Chet is Sam’s inner-conscience who’s raised his voice right about the same time that Jake died. Sam actually wonders if it’s really his brother’s voice come back to haunt him. Chet is sarcastic and mocks Sam mercilessly. But he’s also totally real. Chet’s song to Sam is Bowling for Soup’s, Here’s Your Freakin’ Song.
Monica – Monica grew up with a neglectful, alcoholic mother. Her father, who was her life, died when she was young. She is smart, resourceful, independent, and has survived knock after knock. After she moves away and is going to college, she gets all tangled up in a court case between the FBI and the mob. Even then she doesn’t give up. So Monica’s song is Rachel Platten’s, Fight Song.
Angel – Angel goes from a no-direction, no-life girl to this kick ass action hero. She swoops in and helps rescue her friend, then goes on to battle the FBI for their freedom. She doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her, giving the world the middle finger. Angel’s song is Halestorm’s Freak Like Me.
Erebus – Erebus is one of the darkest characters I’ve ever met. He’s a murder who summons a demon from the other side whenever he kills so the two of them can experience the death together. His song is Judas Priest’s Night Crawler.
Laven – Laven the drug lord, Laven the mob boss, Laven the killer. He’ll put you in the ground just because he’s in a foul mood…which he is almost always in a foul mood. He runs the New York underground, so Laven’s song is Jay-Z’s Run This Town.
Thank you SO much Brooke for letting me explore my musical roots! Readers, are you ready to learn a bit about our books and enter to win a $50 Amazon gift card? Woop! Let’s go!

122 Rules
Today, we are announcing my adult thriller novel, 122 Rules.
Synopsis
In his black and white world, Sam Bradford–former Marine turned government assassin–finally sees a speck of grey. He has always followed orders without question, but his latest assignment threatens to disrupt the precision of his universe and may either severe or redeem his last remaining sliver of humanity.
Using his mastery of the 122 Rules of Psychology, Sam hunts down everyone The Agency sends him to find and eliminates them. Just as he has his rifle scope focused on his latest victim, Monica Sable, a SoCal girl entangled with the mob, his long-dormant conscience reappears for a final performance…one last ditch effort to save the sinking ship of Sam’s soul. He’s killed innocents before, but tarries on pulling the trigger this time.
When Monica escapes his crosshairs and fumbles her way across the country in a pathetic attempt to elude capture, Sam gives chase. But he’s not the only one after her. Ruthless henchmen, hired by the mob, froth like bloodhounds and nip at Monica’s heels. Now Sam is faced with a choice: turn his back on the rules and jeopardize his way of life by helping her or join the pack and rip her to shreds.

Deek Rhew
Deek lives in a rainy pocket in the Pacific Northwest with the stunning YA author bride, Erin Rhew, and their writing assistant, a fat tabby named Trinity. They enjoy lingering in the mornings, and often late into the night, caught up Erin’s fantastic fantasy worlds of noble princes and knights and entwined in Deek’s dark underworld of the FBI and drug lords.
He and Erin love to share books by reading aloud to one another. In addition, they enjoy spending time with friends, running, boxing, lifting weights, and exploring the little town–with antique shops and bakeries–they call home.

Next week be on the lookout for Erin’s:
The Fulfillment Series Blitz Extravaganza!

Erin Rhew
Erin Rhew is an editor, a running coach, and the author of The Fulfillment Series. Since she picked up Morris the Moose Goes to School at age four, she has been infatuated with the written word. She went on to work as a grammar and writing tutor in college and is still teased by her family and friends for being a member of the “Grammar Police.”
A Southern girl by blood and birth, Erin now lives in a rainy pocket of the Pacific Northwest with the amazingly talented (and totally handsome) writer Deek Rhew and their “overly fluffy,” patient-as-a-saint writing assistant, a tabby cat named Trinity. She and Deek enjoy reading aloud to one another, running, lifting, boxing, eating chocolate, and writing side-by-side.
Artwork

I totally love music and getting to share my 122 Rules Character Playlist with you makes my heart happy! Thank you for hosting, Brooke! Really appreciate it.
