The last thing rancher Rory Kendrick expects to find when he’s searching for his missing cattle is a genuine damsel in distress. After rushing to help, he can’t help wanting to do anything he can for this lovely but damaged woman. But even his kind deed won’t get Sadie to tell him who’s responsible for hurting her.
Sadie is trying to hold onto her family, and her life. With an ill father who’s refusing treatment and a younger brother who has fallen in with a dangerous crowd, she’s beginning to feel like she can’t save anyone, least of all herself. When her brother owes money to the wrong people, Sadie tries to pay off his debts, but she doesn’t have the cash. The one person who might be able to help her out is the last person she wants to involve in her family drama, but Rory won’t take no for an answer.
Rory is all about family, but sometimes you’ve got to let go. If you can’t save them, save yourself. Sadie’s been dealt a bad hand she refuses to fold. Because he loves her, he’ll do anything to keep her safe and give her the happy life she deserves, even betray her trust to take down her brother.
What is your favorite part of being an author?
Seeing my books on the shelves. Hearing from fans who love the characters I create as much as I do. Working from home so I can be with my kids.
If you could have dinner with any of your characters, who would you choose and why?
I would love to have dinner with the entire Hunted series cast of characters at one of their epic dinners at Decadence. It would be so fun to sit down with the entire family.
Where would you write from if you could write anywhere in the world?
I love the sound of the ocean. I’ll take a white sand beach in Bora Bora. I’ve always wanted to go there. It looks so beautiful and tranquil.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I spend time with my family and work in the garden. I most like to read, though I don’t get to do that as often anymore. I miss it. So much so that I’ve started reading while on the treadmill just to fit in a few chapters a day.
What are you working on right now?
I just turned in Ford’s book, which will be the 6th book in the Montana Men series. I’m about to start writing a novella – Caden’s story. Readers will meet my sexy DEA agent in Stone Cold Cowboy.
Stone Cold Cowboy by Jennifer Ryan is the fourth book in the Montana Men series and I adored it. Rory and Sadie’s story wasn’t an easy one. They didn’t just fall in love at first sight and then live happily ever after. Jennifer Ryan took her characters on an emotional journey from early in their lives to the point where their lives collided. Stone Cold Cowboy was one of those stories that hurt so good…I just loved following Rory and Sadie on their journey and I couldn’t wait to see their story through.
This series is one of my favorites. I love the strong, wounded but loyal Montana men and their sexy, guarded, intelligent women. Ryan has a way of weaving a beautiful story that puts the characters right in your heart. This series is contemporary romance with a cowboy twist and I can’t get enough of it.
