All Things Returned by Ute Carbone is the third novella in her historical romance series, Anton & Lenora. The story takes place in San Francisco in 1852. I felt I was able to read the book as a stand-alone with just minor issues. The author did a good job of explaining some of the back story as needed throughout the novella. Though this is a short read, at just over 60 pages, I felt the story was deep and the plot thoroughly entertaining. I enjoyed the characters.
