Bout of Books 13 #BoutOfBooks

Bout of Books 13 #BoutOfBooks

It’s time for Bout of Books 13! I’m a bit late with my sign up post. I was on the fence about whether I would do the read-a-thon, but I always end up signing up, so here goes. I’m hoping to read:

The Final Reveille by Amanda Flower
Southern Heat by David Burnsworth
The Corpse with the Sapphire Eyes by Cathy Ace
before i go by Colleen Oakley
Mean Streak by Sandra Brown

This may switch up since I’m terrible at being organized. I’ll likely throw in some books not on the list and include some audiobooks to break things up. I won’t get too much reading done until Wednesday when I’m off – Tuesday is a little too busy with work all day followed …

Spine Poetry Challenge #BoutofBooks

Spine Poetry Challenge #BoutofBooks

Murder Strikes a Pose,
Stirring the Plot
To Live Forver.

So, what do you think? 🙂 Alysia at My Little Pocketbooks is hosting a fun Spine Poetry Challenge today for Bout of Books 11! The challenge is to write a poem using all the words in titles of books on your shelves. You have to use a minimum of 3 books, and you can add a free word for each book used if you need to. I think mine turned out pretty interesting, even without adding any free words.

Day 1

Okay, so Bout of Books 10.0 Day 1 is officially in the books. 🙂 This will be my Bout of Books Progress Updates post. I’ll update each day with my progress. For day 1, I read 191 pages of Outside In by Doug Cooper. My general goal was wanting to read about 200 pages per day, so I came close. I’m definitely pleased with my progress, considering I didn’t really start reading until yesterday morning. I stayed up last night until I finished the book and I am now on to reading Murder in Merino by Sally Goldenbaum.

Pages Read: 191
Books Finished: 0
Audiobooks: 0

If you’re doing #BoutOfBooks, how’s it going? What are you reading?

Spell It Out Challenge – #BoutOfBooks @kimberlyreads

Spell It Out Challenge – #BoutOfBooks @kimberlyreads

Alright, so after the storm fiasco yesterday leaving me with no electricity or internet…meaning no participating in challenges…:(…I’m back! Woohoo! And I’m excited to participate in the Spell It Out Challenge, hosted by Kimberly at Kimberly Reads. Be sure to head over and check out her post on the challenge.

For my challenge, I am going to list books that I want to read to spell out my name. I’m going to use just books on my bookshelves though! More specifically…my ‘cozy mystery’ bookshelf. Then you can maybe see how sad it is that I have hundreds of physical books I haven’t yet read. We’re not even going to touch my number of ebooks. *Sigh* Anyhow lol…here goes!

Federal Paranormal Unit Book 2

If you run from love, you’re asking for a chase…

James Brock lived the past ten years without the woman he loves. Using his job as head of the Federal Paranormal Unit to help others, he’s done a good job of ignoring his lack of a personal life until she returns. His salvation. His first love.

Bookish Battle Royal Challenge #BoutOfBooks #bookbattleroyal

Christina at My Life in Books is hosting a Bookish Battle Royal Challenge for #BoutOfBooks 10.0. I’ve been trying to think all afternoon of which characters I would pit together in the ultimate literary battle royal. For the Bookish Battle Royal Challenge, we’re to pick 3 or more fictional characters to do battle, list their strengths and weaknesses, and decide who would win. I’m going for a random trio of strong female characters I enjoy. Here goes…
