Verity communicates with ghosts. Matthew Jackson, a Civil War era ghost, asks her to do a favor for him – somehow retrieve the family heirloom necklace his mother promised he could have for his bride. He feels he cannot enter his family home, since his mother disowned him when he joined the Union army. Now, in the after-life, Matthew has met someone and wants to ask for her hand – but he needs the necklace to do so. Verity needs help from Frankie (the ghost she’s stuck with) to be able to see the spirits at the Jackson home and try to get the necklace.
