Sparky Cupcakes – Recipe

I have a Goldendoodle named Sparky. This little pup, all 28 pounds, is a bundle of good energy. He makes everyone who comes into the house a dog lover. He can’t wait to play. He loves to follow kids and pretend he’s one of them. He’s a party animal.

So I decided to honor him by making a cupcake that looks like him. Okay, the real reason I made them is because my daughter-in-law sent me a YouTube link of a woman making doggie cupcakes. The woman used whipped cream for the frosting, but I didn’t think that would hold up, so I created this version using my favorite cream cheese frosting. Why not? …

Setting is an important aspect of all stories. In the past, I’ve always created fictional towns. They’re a cross between places I’ve lived and what I think a town should be like, especially for each story. Like in my YA series, Disturbia Diaries, it’s very important that Hollow Ridge is an average suburban town that looks normal…but just happens to be filled with murder. 🙂

When I started writing the Dead by the Numbers series, it was different.

I grew up …

Twisted Threads by Lea Wait – Review + Giveaway

Twisted Threads by Lea Wait – Review + Giveaway

Twisted Threads by Lea Wait is the first book in the brand new cozy series called Mainely Needlepoint. I adored this book! The characters were charming and the settings were delightful. I liked Angie right from the beginning and quickly fell in love with her Gram, Charlotte. I was hooked by the first sentence of this book.

Angie comes back home after her mother’s body is discovered. Her mother had been missing for several years and most people in the town assumed she had just run off with a boyfriend. Angie has worked with a PI in Arizona. She plans to use her knowledge to not only help solve her mother’s murder, but also to help her Gram …
