A Dodie O’Dell Mystery #2

Restaurant manager Dodie O’Dell’s themed food ideas have been called cute, clever, and delicious, but never revolutionary—until now. Dodie’s Windjammer Restaurant is stocking the Etonville Little Theatre’s concession stand with colonial-era desserts and drinks: Swamp Yankee applesauce cake, pumpkin bread, hot cider punch, and mulled wine to complement the latest production. A local playwright has adapted Thornton Wilder’s Our Town into Eton Town, shifting the story to colonial America and the founding of Etonville, New Jersey, shortly after the Revolutionary War.

On opening night, hours before the curtain rises, Dodie runs into an agitated actress backstage with blood on her hands. Then a stranger is found among the chairs set …

Mister Mottley and the Dying Fall by Ellen Seltz

Mister Mottley and the Dying Fall by Ellen Seltz

My Thoughts

Mister Mottley and the Dying Fall by Ellen Seltz is the second book in the Mottley and Baker Mysteries series. This series is set in the Golden Age and injects a fair dose of humor with mystery. In this second adventure, Mottley finds himself on another mystery-solving adventure. I had a blast reading this book. Mottley and Baker are so funny and I look forward to their wry, witty remarks. If you love mysteries in the vein of Agatha Christie, don’t pass this series by.

One detective who’s not going down without a fight.

She hasn’t seen hide nor hair of him since he escaped police custody and fled to Russia soon after his arrest, except now her latest murder investigation gives her reason to believe he’s back in town. Seeing as the victim is the man who killed her grandfather, her perspective may be a little skewed, but with the MO smacking of Constantine and the victim’s connections to the mob, she finds it hard to be objective. Still, she’s doing …

Margaritas, Mayhem and Murder by Mary Cunningham – Fast Five with Andi Anna Jones (and giveaway)

Fast Five with Andi Anna Jones

1) As a travel agent, you must love travel. Where are your favorite places to go?

Really? You assume I love travel? I suppose that’s a popular misconception about agents. Actually, I get so sick of hearing customer complaints, personal travel is about the last thing I want to do! And, crowded airplanes (I’m a severe claustrophic!), airports, and lost luggage? Forget it!

Well, unless it involves a white sand beach in Cancun, a handsome sheriff, and a pitcher-full of margaritas. On second thought, travel can be pretty cool!

2) How did you find yourself as an amateur sleuth?

I’ve always been interested in “sleuthing”. I watched Matlock, Murder She Wrote, and Columboreruns while …

Things are slow in the off-season in this Jersey Shore town, but Lucy doesn’t mind. She doesn’t even mind waitressing at the Kebab Kitchen. A Joseph Haydn Mystery #2
Foiled Plots Press • December 1, 2017

When Monteverdi’s lost operas surface, so does a killer desperate to possess them. . .

Preoccupied with preparations for the opera season at Eszterháza, Kapellmeister Joseph Haydn receives a curious request from a friend in Vienna. Kaspar, an impoverished violinist with an ailing wife, wishes Haydn to evaluate a collection of scores reputed to be the lost operas of Monteverdi.

Haydn is intrigued until Her Majesty, Empress Maria Theresa, summons him with a similar request. Skeptical of the value of Kaspar’s bequest, Haydn nevertheless offers to help. But before he can examine the works, Kaspar is murdered—beaten and left to die in front of a wine …
