Lucille Pfiffer sees, but not with her eyes. She lives with her beloved dog Vanilla (“Nilla” for short) in a cozy neighborhood that is quite “active” due to what occurred in the distant past. Though totally blind, she plays an integral role in helping to solve pressing and puzzling mysteries, one right after the other, which, without her, might remain unsolved.
The question is: How can she do any of that with such a handicap?
Blind Sight by Tanya R. Taylor is the first book in a new paranormal cozy mystery series featuring senior citizen Lucille Pfiffer and her dog Nilla. Lucille is blind…most of the time. But for reasons unknown to her, she sometimes has an “inner vision” where she can briefly see the world around her. She’s also had some ghostly visitors. Lucille is smart and I like that she speaks her mind. The book felt a bit wordy in parts which interrupted the flow of the story for me. The mystery took a long time to get going. I was a third of the way in before we figured out what was happening – and I normally prefer the crime to take place well before that point. But overall, I enjoyed my time with Lucille and think I would read further books in the series.
