Fight for Your Right #BehindTheBlogger

Fight for Your Right #BehindTheBlogger

Fight for Your Right

Sorry for the glitch with my post earlier; somehow WordPress published my first draft and not my updated one. Oops! Anyhow, on to this week’s prompt: Fight for Your Right. In today’s world, it would seem like we shouldn’t have to fight much for our right to do anything, but that isn’t the case.

I found out I was pregnant for my first daughter when I was 18 and in my first quarter of college. Not long after that, I realized I would be doing it all on my own. I fought for my right take care of my daughter on my own. I fought against family and friends who felt I could not do it. Even …

'Round Here #BehindTheBlogger

'Round Here #BehindTheBlogger

‘Round Here reminds me of the Florida Georgia Line song “Round Here”.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand…

‘Round Here

‘Round Here makes me think of where I live: small town USA for sure. I live in the same little town I grew up in. There are no stoplights. We are just a blip on a map. Sometimes, my town isn’t even listed on maps or on a GPS. We can’t order take-out for delivery, since no one delivers out here. Our town consists of a carryout store, a post office, a volunteer fire department, a legion, a bar, and a rod and gun club. They’re also building a dollar store, which is the first thing being built in our town …

October Blog Ahead #BlogAhead2016

October Blog Ahead #BlogAhead2016

Anna at Herding Cats & Burning Soup is hosting an October Blog Ahead Challenge. This challenge is to help bloggers get ahead and have some blog posts ready to go whenever they’re needed. It is so awesome to have a cache of posts just waiting to be posted. The goal is to increase the amount of scheduled posts you have by 30. I have so much coming up in the next few months, and having blog posts scheduled will make my blogging life much easier! Even if they aren’t fully scheduled, just having the posts prepped/mostly ready to go with just a few additions (like a review, interview, etc.) will make things so …

When You Love Someone #BehindTheBlogger

When You Love Someone #BehindTheBlogger

Love.

Who do you think of when you see this image? When you hear the word love? I immediately think of my boyfriend, Donny. We have been together for 7+ years. Most days, it doesn’t seem that long at all. I believe that sometimes, when you see a person, you just know. You can just tell that they are going to be more for you than other people. You know they are going to have an incredible impact on your life story. I felt that way with Donny right from the beginning.

The world seems like a better place when you love someone. Colors are brighter. You see beauty where you didn’t see it before. You have a feeling of hope. As …

Cinnamon Toasted by Gail Oust
Spice Shop Mystery #3

Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Case in point: Piper Prescott’s former mother-in-law Melly. Beneath her twin sets and pearls beats the heart of a geek—a geek whose programming changes for the point-of-sale software in Piper’s shop have the owners of the program ready to …

7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge – Day 6

7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge – Day 6

Day 6 is here! The 7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge is being hosted by Parajunkee. Today’s posts are all about our favorite holiday books. This is a tough one. Of course, my all-time favorite is A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. I have an audiobook version narrated by Tim Curry and it is outstanding. My older daughter and I love listening to that leading up to Christmas. I also read two great Christmas themed contemporary romance books this holiday season: Do You Believe In Santa? by Sierra Donovan and The Great Christmas Knit-Off by Alexandra Brown. I really enjoyed them both.

Do you have any favorite holiday books? Let me know in the comments.

7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge – Day 5

7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge – Day 5

Day 5 of the 7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge (hosted by Parajunkee) is upon us. Today we are sharing a holiday tradition. One of my favorite holiday traditions is giving my daughters new pajamas on Christmas Eve. It’s so cute to see them in new jammies, and to know they’ll have something cute and new on Christmas morning when they go to open gifts. I’ve been thinking of upping the ante a bit and giving them a Christmas Eve box that includes a few more things: a Christmas movie, some magic reindeer food, popcorn, hot cocoa and their new pajamas. That way, they can sprinkle the magic reindeer food, get cozied up in their jammies, and enjoy …

7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge – Day 3

7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge – Day 3

Here we are at day 3 of the 7 Day Holiday Blogging Challenge. Parajunkee is hosting this fun blogging challenge, and you can check out her blog to link up. 🙂

Today we are talking about our favorite holiday photo moment. This is a tough one for me, as I’ve had so many wonderful holiday photo moments. I’m going to share a picture from my four year old’s preschool Christmas program a few weeks ago. Her teachers took a photo of us at the program, mod-podged it onto painted canvas & attached magnets to the back to make a sweet keepsake for us. My only regret with the photo is that my older daughter, Keira, is not in it. …
