Under the Barnyard Light by Carla Crane Osborne
Illustrated by Brandon Dorman

Under the glow of the soft barnyard light…
Even in the dark of the winter, the animals need to be fed. Step into the magical world of a young girl on a farm full of small wonders. Beneath the barnyard light, feed warm milk to the calves, catch snowflakes on your tongue, and give a kiss to Dandy the horse.
Our Thoughts
Under the Barnyard Light by Carla Crane Osborne is a beautiful children’s story. The little girl in the story helps her father take care of the animals on the farm and has a special relationship with Dandy the horse. I really loved the fact that the little girl is shown completing farm chores and helping out her family. The story is perfectly illustrated. The colors are rich and the illustrations follow the soft tone of the story taking place Under the Barnyard Light.
If you have little ones who enjoy stories about animals, family, or even just stories with beautiful pictures, this is a great book to pick up. It is one on our keeper shelf for sure. My 9-year-old enjoyed it and read it to her 2-year-old sister. My 2-year-old enjoyed the book as well, but decided she didn’t want to be in our photo.
